Description:

Both teams swung the bats well but struggled in the field as the Red Sox rallied to defeat the Reds in three innings in a Rookie pre-season contest.  The Reds looked great in the first half of the game, taking an early lead and forcing some outs in the field.  T.C. Falkner, Kyle Blair, and Joey Rice all hit doubles for the Reds, who had one of their best hitting games of the season.  Defensively, Sam Riemer, Donovan Brady, and Shaun Montgomery shone for the Reds.  Donovan came up from his position in right center field to snag a long grounder and force a runner at second base.  Sam made a nice grab of a shot to shortstop and threw to Shaun at third for an out.  Shaun also recorded an out when he fielded a grounder at third and stepped on the bag to record an out.  But the Sox bats suddenly began stroking the long ball, and the Red Sox scored in bunches in the second and third innings to pull away for the win.
