Description:

Evan Pearce and Andrew Willinger combined for 17 strike outs in shutting out a good A's team. Pearce and Willinger were at their best, limiting the A's to only one hit and two walks over six innings.

The A's solid defense kept the game close through 5 innings with a double play ending the Cardinal second inning and a great catch by their center fielder, leaving the bases loaded in the 5th inning.

Nathan Frantz, Michael Taylor, Michael Reeves, Trey Shapanus, Greg Manfredi, and Kyle McIntosh all scored runs for a well balanced Cardinal offense. Jonathan Coartney, of the A's, broke up the no hitter with a hit to right field in the 4th inning.
