Description:

The opening game of the season for both teams had the Devil Rays start off by scoring 5 runs in the first inning. Layne Whitaker and Robert Steltenpohl walked while Justin Merrill, Kendall Derr, and Mitchell Green each singled and scored.

The Reds answered in the top of the 2nd with Reid Gilson cutting the lead to 4 runs.

The bottom of the inning saw Aaron Renner crossing the plate after a walk followed by 5 singles from Jordan Yates, Steve Stikrod, Layne Whitaker, Robert Steltenpohl and Kendall Derr. Once again the Reds delivered when Dalton Poythress scored off of blasts by Kevin Butler and Ryan Bell. The Devil Rays offense went back to work Mitchell Green and Brandon Voiro as both singled and scored adding two more runs. In the top of the fourth Alec Furrow and Reid Gilson finished the scoring for the Reds when Lucas Roy and Tyler Brussel connected for the visiting team. Justin Merrill tripled and scored the final run in the bottom of the inning to make the final score Devil Rays 14 Reds 4. Great Game and good luck to both teams this season.
