The White Sox never recovered from a five-run Yankee first inning as the Yankee pitchers struck out fourteen batters and allowed just two hits.  Dillon Steele had a solo home run for the Yanks, and was also the winning pitcher.  James Benson got the save for the winners, stranding several Sox runners as he worked out of some late-inning jams.  Sox starter Jordan Simons settled down after the rocky start and held the Yankees scoreless in the second and third innings.  Kevin Montgomery came on in relief, striking out four and allowing three runs in three innings of work.
