Description:

The Mariners were shut down in the 1st inning by 3 straight strikeouts by Red Sox pitcher Matt Rowe.  The Red Sox scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st on excellent base running by the team.  End of 1st inning Red Sox led 5-0. The Mariners were once again denied in the top of the second.  Raymond lead off the inning with a grounder back to pitcher Matt Rowe who converted the play to an out on a throw to 1B Caleb Chappell.  Rowe then threw for one walk and two more strikeouts to end the inning.  The Red Sox once again capitalized on excellent base running by scoring 5 runs again in the bottom half of the inning to take a 10-0 lead.  Matt Rowe then threw for one walk and 3K's in the top of the third to shut down the Mariners once again. The Red Sox then scored 5 more runs in the bottom half of the inning thanks so a spectacular single by James Fox which scored 2 runs.  The Red Sox then finished out the rest of the inning by scoring 5 more runs for a 15-0 lead.  Jake Karlen then assumed the pitching duties for the Red Sox in the top of the 4th.  Jake allowed 4 runs on 3 walks but struck out two including the final out to secure the win for the Red Sox.  Final Score:  Red Sox 15    Mariners 4
