Game Date: 4/16/04 Description: Despite spotting the Reds a 7-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second inning, the White Sox suddenly found their offense and rallied for the victory. Trailing 9-7 in the bottom of the fourth, the winners plated two runs with two outs, with Kevin Montgomery scoring on a wild pitch to tie the game at 9. In the fifth, Morgan Franklin shut down the Reds - who had scored at least one run in each of the previous five innings - leaving it up to the Sox offense to try to win the game in their half of the inning. With one out, Ben Austin ripped out a solo home run through the gap between second and short to give the White Sox their first win of the season. Morgan Franklin earned the victory on the mound. |
