Description:

The Cardinals offense continued in high gear scoring 13 runs against good Rangers pitching.  The Cardinals offense was led by Nathan Frantz, Evan Pearce, and Andrew Willinger who each had multiple hits in the game.  Their contributions were highlighted in the 6th inning when they hit back to back to back doubles.  The Cardinals also had an extra base hit by Trey Shapanus who ripped a double down the left field line in the 3rd inning.  Steven Jones contributed with an RBI the hard way, as he was drilled by a fastball with the bases loaded.  This was the 3rd time the iron tough Jones has been hit by a pitch this season.

The Rangers were led by Scott Reid who went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a triple.  He drove in 3 of the Rangers runs and scored their other run.  Reid also pitched 2 strong innings for the Rangers striking out 6 Cardinals.

Frantz started for the Cardinals, pitching 3 strong innings to pick up his second win of the season.  Willinger, with 6 strike outs in his 2 innings of work, and Michael Reeves, throwing strikes in a solid inning on the mound, secured the win for the Cardinals
