Description:

This game started out as a hard fought battle between two good teams.  A pitchers duel ensued in the first inning as the score remained tied at 1-1.  The Red Sox opened up in the 2nd inning with 5 runs on hits by Matt Rowe and Kyle Zabel to make the score 6-1.  The Devil Rays fought back and scored 3 runs in the top of the 3rd to make the score 6-4.  This game was turning into a hard fought battle at the plate.  The Red Sox once again capitalized in the bottom of the 3rd on hits by Brandon Funk, Jake Karlen, Matt Rowe, Caleb Chappell, Ben Wright and Ben Peterson, scoring 4 more runs to make the score 10-4.  The 4th inning turned into a defensive battle with neither team scoring any runs because of great defensive efforts on both sides.   The Devil Rays added one more run in the top of the fifth and the Red Sox pitching and defense once again prevailed for a 10-5 victory.  Congrats to both teams on a game well played and a job well done.
